Metaplanet Buys $92.5 Million Worth Of Bitcoin
Metaplanet has acquired an additional 780 Bitcoin for approximately ¥13.67 billion ($92.5 million), bringing its total holdings to 17,132 BTC as institutional Bitcoin adoption gains momentum across Asia.
According to a company filing on July 28, Metaplanet purchased the Bitcoin at an average price of ¥17.52 million ($118,622) per coin, continuing its aggressive accumulation strategy that began in April 2024. The company’s total Bitcoin holdings now stand at ¥301.7 billion ($2.03 billion).

Metaplanet’s Bitcoin holdings have grown significantly in 2025, with the company achieving a 129.4% BTC Yield in Q2 and a 22.5% yield so far in Q3. The company uses BTC Yield as a key performance indicator to measure Bitcoin accumulation relative to share dilution.
The purchase was funded through multiple capital raises, including proceeds from the exercise of the 20th through 22nd Series of Stock Acquisition Rights.
