The announcement from Trump of a ceasefire was very soon followed by officials in Iran denying it, and soon after by other officials confirming it.

The denials are back:

  • Iranian Fars News reports that an informed source has denied Trump’s ceasefire claim.

Speaking to Fars News, the source stated that the ceasefire proposal announced by U.S. President Donald Trump is completely false and was intended to distract from the recent humiliation the United States suffered after attacks on its regional bases.

  • The source added that Iran has not received any official or unofficial ceasefire proposal and stressed that the Islamic Republic will soon respond on the ground—demonstrating to the Zionist regime that the claim is baseless.

Also this,

  • “Iranian media quotes officials as saying Tehran has not received any ceasefire proposals”, according to Al Arabiya
